This was exactly the low-stakes, lighthearted read that I needed. The humor throughout the book, including the one-liners that are absolutely killer, added so much to a story that was steeped in chaos and frustration. The character development in both the MC and the support cast was done so skillfully, and by the end of the book, you'll love (most of) the characters you spent time actively loathing earlier on in the story. This was an absolute delight.

Awful, insufferable main character. Far too many plot “twists” just for the sake of plot twists (which, by the way, were predictable) which reduces the impact of the ones that had potential to actually be shocking. And the writing? Ugh. The writing is incredibly juvenile -- lots of telling, minimal showing, and incredibly generic. This is my first Riley Sager book and I don't plan on picking another one up.
