I didn't feel a ton of suspense. Additionally I didn't find any of the chracters "enticing" enough for my to be drawn to the story and anxiously await the outcome to the mystery. The end of the book also didn't feel as "big" as I would have liked from a book like this.

Super fun read. It was predictable but the writing style was super fun to read and kept me on the edge of my seat. Typically i'm not a fan of thriller with a side of horror but Murphy's writing has me reading anything she puts out. Perfect for fans of The Blonde Dies First by Joelle Wellington.

I enjoyed reading this book, but at times it felt like it took place with a very different main character from the first book. Additionally it felt like I had to force myself through parts of the book, despite knowing it was important world building. It read to me like a commentary on politics and world views. While not necessarily a bad thing it was not what I expected after reading Iron Widow. However it does make sense in the context of this book and the overall growth of the main characters. Overall I did enjoy the book especially the last 10%. It did have exciting twists and turns throughout as well. In conclusion I am excited to see how the story progresses in further books.
