I have seen this series all over Bookstagram for months now and it had been on my TBR for quite a while. I decided to finally give it a shot and was honestly quite disappointed in the first book. Although I did love the characters in the book, I felt like there was way too much going on throughout the book in terms of the plot (and plot twists), especially during the second half of the book. Maybe if the book had been another 150 pages longer or so it wouldn’t have felt so rushed. I should also mention that I did start this book past midnight and pulled an all-nighter reading it so maybe I didn’t enjoy it as much because I was sleep deprived. That being said, I do plan on continuing the series as I hate leaving a series unfinished.
Started this book right after finishing book 1 and I absolutely loved it!! After reading Twisted Love, my hopes weren’t too high, but this definitely made up for the first book. Who doesn’t love a morally gray man who has a soft spot for that one special someone. I felt like Bridget’s brothers’ story was skipped through very fast, which makes sense as he is a side character, but I kept coming back to the thought that he could have taken the same actions as Bridget had and gotten the chance to live his dreams. BUT I am glad that everything worked out in the end and that Bridget got her happy ever after. This book kept me engaged the whole time and I ended up reading it in one sitting. There were definitely a few moments I had to put my phone down as I got way too excited over what was happening.
