Thoughts: This was my first Emily Henry book and safe to say, I’ll be reaching for more of her books. This book follows Daphne Vincent and Miles Nowak. The two move in together when Daphne’s fiancé leaves her for his childhood best friend, who happens to be Mile’s girlfriend. As the story develops, we see Daphne and Miles navigate through their new norm. Despite having such contrasting personalities, the pair develop a close friendship, which eventually deepens into a romance.
The characters showed a lot of vulnerability throughout the book, which made it feel very real. It was a cute, easy-to-follow story which was exactly what I needed. There was a bit of a miscommunication piece close to the end, which I wasn’t the biggest fan of, but other than that, it was a lovely read. I binged the first two thirds of this book in a day before having to take a break for a bit (didn’t have much time to read) before I was able to finish it. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had just read it all in one sitting.

This book was definitely worth the wait. I finished it in like two sittings because I couldn’t put it down. This is the fifth book in the King of Sin series – it centers around Vuk Markovic and Ayana Kidane. Vuk is a billionaire with a scarred past (who is still involved in some dark, sketchy things), while Ayana is a famous supermodel who is engaged to Vuk’s best friend (engagement of convenience). Ayana had caught Vuk’s attention from the moment he saw her. Throughout the story, we see Vuk’s usual detachment dissolve when it comes to Ayana. As their connection deepens, we see their moral boundaries being challenged.
Onto my thoughts – I absolutely loved this book. Seeing Vuk lower his guard when it came to Ayana was what kept me turning the pages (and all the yearning). While I’m not really a big fan of the whole cheating trope – I don’t know where I stand on that regarding this book. While Ayana was engaged, it was an engagement of convenience between two platonic friends who had agreed to an open relationship (again, because it was all fake). I just wish the pair had been upfront about their feelings earlier for Jordan’s sake. While this book is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is probably one of my favourite books from the series. As always, I loved seeing Ana’s previous main characters make small appearances in this book – it’s nice to see how all the books are connected through the characters (but again, you do not need to have read her previous books to enjoy this one). I highly recommend this one!
My rating: 4.5

This was one of the first graphic novels I’d picked up since I was a kid, so it’s been a minute. Note: I read this book last summer and I’m a very forgetful person so this review will be painfully short. My brother got me this book as a birthday present as a joke, he had never read it and I had never heard of it. But the minute I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I think also read this one in 1-2 sittings. The graphic novel aspect is well-balanced with wordier pages, so I really enjoyed that. I remember absolutely loving this book and as soon as I completed it, I was looking to see if the author had other books I could check out (she did not ☹). I really liked how this book discussed heavy topics whilst keeping the humour aspect – it made the book very comforting. Would definitely recommend!
Wtf was that ending?!!! It's like she hit her word count and was like okay and we're done now
