Festive Faking: A Country Romance Holiday Novella by Siena Trap

A festive holiday book to start the season. A easy to read shorter novel, quick paced small town, found family with plenty of banter.

Mac and Aspen are rivals in their Masters program. But he finds her right after her boyfriend breaks up with her. She has told her family she will be bringing her boyfriend home for the holidays. Mac offers to fill in.

I enjoyed Mac taking the lead from there. Being the anything to make her happy “fake boyfriend”, eve though they are opposites, the two work. The way he reads Aspen, and goes out of his way to tease and annoy her.

I am ready for the next book in the series.

One Night with You by Carrie Ann Ryan

Another great emotional, hard to put down story from Ms. Ryan! We knew something was up with Claire as she began to pull away from the group at the end of His Second Chance. You do not need to read this book, but this reader will always recommend a Carrie Ann Ryan book! She is also Phoebe’s best friend.

This book is all Claire and Kingston! Claire is working too much; is she avoiding life or people? But agrees to a weekend away in the mountains with the Montgomery cousins. She arrives before the roads are shut down, and it turns out she and Kingston are the only two who made it before the storm hit. Now these two are hiding their feelings, will they give in?

There is some hilarity as only the Montgomery’s can deliver, and cameos from our favorites. Kingston working though his guilt, but having the patience and perseverance to make a relationship work. I loved this story and cannot wait for the next one.

Back to Rosemary Beach for another visit and catch up on what is happening there. This book has happiness and sadness; we are dealing with some tough topics and secrets. New beginnings for some and second chances for others, hope and forgiveness ever present. The newest member of the family is a Yorkie pup, with plenty of nicknames, but mainly called Pork Chop! I love how this family faces the toughest decisions head on and together.

My first book by this author, but not my last. I will be honest the cover did attract me! I read book two first, but I will go back and read book one. I loved everything about this book, the writing, the characters, the journey the characters took, and the overall story.

I read this book quickly, I was hooked. Jensen and Lily are opposites, his confidence compliments her innocence. I enjoyed seeing Lily grow and emerge from under her father's shadow.

As I said, I will be reading more from this author, I was pleasantly hooked, and looking for more.

Challenging Ryker by Elizabella Baker

A lot is going on, in a short amount of time, yet the story gives me everything I need. Suspense, danger, complex characters, and plenty of romance.

Ryker and Amelia are both laden with baggage, and Ryker might be the one to rescue her physically, but she repays him emotionally. The chemistry is there, but they need to work through past trauma to move forward. I loved being part of the journey to their HEA.

 Can you go home?

A new series, and we are in Telluride, CA, to meet the Wilde Brothers. These brothers embrace their last name and what we know of them is that this is going to be a fun series.

Scarlett is a nomad, traveling from place to place where the theater takes her. She spends little time at home, as she feels she does not fit in, and her family disapproves of her choices. But she has come home; she needs to regroup and figure out her next move. Eli Wilder was not a distraction she saw coming, but while the chemistry is red hot, she has an expiration date and plans to keep her time in Telluride short.

Together Eli and Scarlett discover new dreams, and directions. We meet new friends, and reconnect with old. A great series start, and I am looking forward to all the Wildes finding their one.

Alex and Opel’s story had me hooked, and as their story unfolds, you get to know their insecurities, fears, and dreams. We start with two friends who meet in school and face the angst of navigating the good and bad of the age. As they fall in love, opportunity separates them.

As time brings them both to Willow Grove, so does their second chance.

This is an emotional story; the journey is worth it.

Are you Ready? It is one of those books you want to go blind to; the storytelling is amazing, and the characters are relatable and memorable. Briar’s story will tug at your heart, but together, Forrest and Briar will mend it. The twins will steal it, and Forrest will have you swooning.

Not sure if the next book can top this one, but I am ready.

Well Andrew, you surprised me. We are back in Sunny Brook Farms, and I love a good grump, but I was pleasantly surprised to meet the man underneath.

Kelsey is a sports PT, and in a relationship with one of her players. Until it all blows up. About the same time Andrew is a injured in a unsanctioned rodeo. As she has helped the family before, and is best friends with his sister, she is called in to help. She needs a do over, and accepts.

Not expecting the attraction, gentleness, and generosity of her patient. But there is a pattern here, add in some drama, and surprises. Now, who is caring for whom?

I loved this story, it was a great escape for the day! I have loved reading this series, and hope we return to Sunny Brook Farms some day.

Inheriting Harmony by Ava Hawthorne

A new author, a fun easy read, with a story to keep me interested.

Ash has returned to her hometown, Harmony Falls, with her son. She has inherited her grandmother's estate. Harmony has many fond memories for Ash; there is one sore spot, her ex-husband, who is causing his own kind of discomfort for her.

We have a mystery to solve. A ranch foreman who is causing all kinds of distractions, personally, not professionally. An ex who will not go away. Ash is trying to adjust to her new life, being a good mom, and maybe opening her heart to another.

What sold me was the town of Harmony Falls, the charm, and the neighbors, who are a bit too nosy.
