I was not ready for this and I realized it literally in the last chapter.

Okay, I'm going to say it: I was not a fan of this trilogy. I didn't hate the first two books, but they left me unsatisfied; I felt like everything was too focused and so linear and I couldn't get immersed in the story the same way I got caught up with The raven cycle. Maybe I grew out of my love for this series. Maybe I didn't even like the previous series that much. And the I caught myself thinking about how meandering this was getting and oh baby, we're back.

I'm not going to rate this because despite loving the characters so much, finding my groove back and nearly bawling at the fucking myth of creation (how very dare you Stiefvater, what the fuck?) it felt like too little too late. I will forever be grateful to this book for giving me an explanation behind Declan Lynch as a concept, but that's basically it.

Farewell, Lynch brothers, tho. You will be missed.

I cannot do this. I knew I could not do this. The horrors of love, indeed.

Ah yes, would you like a story about how my race was enslaved by a species of parasitic slugs that were unleashed on the galaxy by the arrogant and totally not selfish Andalite people? It's the perfect goodnight story, I swear.

You can't give me a story about siblings (or twins, even better) and ask me not to melt into tears at every opportunity. I'm simply not strong enough.
How dare you make me reflect upon the concept of family and community and the way individuals needs sometimes should be prioritised in order to create more lasting  - and healthy - relationships; but still, we need to look out for the people we love. "I am my brother's keeper, I tell myself"
So true bestie, so true.
