i have never been through a more immersive read than this book put me through. an absolute gem of a book. the writing was smart, painfully honest and incredibly creative. its just a couple of kids turned full on adults navigating life’s messiest curveballs. i love that the mc’s were casual gamers that became full on video game designers & producers. i loved their unrelenting passion to produce art that they love with the people they love. at its heart, its a messy up & down telling of platonic soulmates and i think thats what makes it even more beautiful because their adversities and time together is just so real. so much goes on in this book but zevin does it all justice, it just works and the pay off is amazing. i was dumbfounded for days, weeks after this read. its just one ill always think about.
