The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin

I like Ira Levin's style, however his Joanna E. seems very modeled on Rosemary in "Rosemary's Baby". They are extraordinarily similar in the way that they reason away the things that make them uncomfortable about what's going on around them. They second guess themselves at the last, most crucial moment.

Levin works in a lot of modern feminist references that are at times cheeky but a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This book is a throwaway. If it wasn't for the recipes, I'd have skimmed the entire thing. It's very disjointed and obviously a way for C.H. to make more money on this blockbuster series. It's more focused on the show than the book.
