I just finished my 5th watch Brotherhood and decided to read the Manga volumes I have at home again.
I love how close of an adaptation the anime is but the things that are missing are even more interesting to me. Some early chapters were left out of Brotherhood (cause they had already adapted them in 03 and only stuck to the most important ones) and a few little moments are missing from Brotherhood too, like why the first branch of the library burnt down! I always just accepted that as a coincidence.
I as a Royai-Tattoo-Haver am of course also very happy about the few bits of Roy and Riza that didn't make it to Brotherhood AND since I'm reading in german I really get to enjoy some of the translation choices (Fuhrer Bradley is understandably not called that in german.).

Geniuenly insane Shinya and Guren content in this one. EVEN MORE insane Kureto content. I love this series so much.

Really really sweet! I had to read this right after another book that I didn't like, both of them for a class about young adult fiction (though I would call both books middle grade). I thought part of the reason I didn't like the other one was that I am too old for it, but I am definitely too old for this one and I thought it was great.
I had some issues with the writing, but none to major. The PoV bouncing between Railey and Atti within the same page was a bit confusing sometimes, but again: Not too much of a bother.
I paired this with the Soundtrack to "The Boy and The Heron" and it was a wonderful match!

All the 2,5 stars I'm giving this are for that Guren Squad/Mahiru section at the end of chapter 54.
