What an Owl Knows: The New Science of the World's Most Enigmatic Birds by Jennifer Ackerman

Wow. I already loved owls and this book made me love them even more. What mysterious and beautiful creatures they are. While a lot is known about them, there is still lots unknown about owls at the same time. Details regarding their behaviours and habitats, wisdom, weird migrations, and so much more, which makes them even cooler I think. They keep their secrets close, and who knows when or if all of their secrets will be discovered. Read this book (I recommend the audiobook) if you love owls already or if you are intrigued by them. This book speaks to scientific knowledge about owls and their cultural significance as well as superstitions from many different cultures.

An easy 5 stars and my first ever John Green book. Boy not like I needed more reasons to hate big pharma, systemic racism and capitalism but here’s yet another reason. The world could either eradicate or nearly eradicate tuberculosis… but it doesn’t. Why? Because of the reasons I said in the beginning of this review.

A cute and spicy cowboy romance. Can’t go wrong! This book had some very emotional elements in it with the loss of a parent. But it was so nice reading a book with an emotionally mature MMC.

Wow. What a heartbreaking, and deeply emotional book. Jenette is a fantastic writer. I’d love for her to write more books tbh. She has such a dry humour that translates even on page or in the audiobook.

Highly recommend this book but make sure to check the content warnings first.

A very interesting and important Indigenous perspective I think. The book was a little repetitive in some parts but overall I found it interesting and informative.

What an interesting book. While it is filled with trauma and devastation and dark moments there is also the other side of that where hope and love lives and the importance of community. Definitely recommend reading this.

I honestly liked this book better than the first one. Some very philosophical ideas in both of the books that make you really think. Just very lovely cozy thought provoking read.

Elsie Silver does it again with another book boyfriend I would love to have. What an emotional rollercoaster of a book. Great banter as usual. Tugs at your heart strings.

A very quirky, weird, and loveable romantasy. Yes, it’s weird ofc but also funny, charming, cute, steamy, and has some undertones in it as well.

Can’t go wrong with a why choose lol. Highly recommend if you want a fun and easy read!
