The Truth According to Ember by Danica Nava

4.5

A funny and charming office comedy from a fresh voice. While the characters were enjoyable, the male love interest fell a bit flat; it was easier to think of the book as a chick flick than a romance, more about a girl growing into herself and also there is a hot guy, than about the relationship itself. The office scenes were absolutely delicious with detail and wry observations about corporate culture. This is the book version of a Friday night comfort movie to curl up with on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.

An engaging and distinct narrative voice, but overall a fairly twee and sentimental story.
