This book has a lot of potential but seems to struggle to deliver especially on its characters which aren't particularly compelling or interesting. It also feels quite cliche at times. That said it's an easy, fast paced read that was relatively enjoyable so I guess it did alright overall. I also think the world was interesting.

The audiobook narrator is great. I overall really enjoyed and Gideon is quite a fun POV character. It definitely has a lot of characters and names to keep track of, but it's still pretty enjoyable even if there are occasional wtf is going on moments.
