still really good!! not as fun as the first one in my opinion, just bc less happens i feel. some good lore development though hopefully setting up for a strong end to the trilogy.

could’ve been great… a promising first few chapters but idk, i just wanted more. the parts that the author used to reel me in turned out to definitely not be the focus of the last 50-75%. i didn’t feel the tension building throughout so the climax and ending fell flat. didn’t care about any of the characters and didn’t find them interesting. honestly felt a bit shallow and disjointed. also unfortunately saw both twists coming, though one was more obvious than the other imo.

all that to say, the prose is beautiful and the gothic vibes are immaculate. worth a read if you’re willing to overlook a weaker plot and unnecessary dual pov for pure gothic girlhood fairytale codependency vibes.
