unexpectedly depraved, gory, horrific, cosmic. probably couldn’t stomach to read it again but it’s short and insane and a solid horror

my favorite hendrix title thus far. everything about this book is everything i love in horror media i like to consume. the horror movie easter eggs, the badass women, the gore, the tension, the mystery.

3.5 stars. found this in a tiktok recommending books with eddie munson vibes and was surprised i’d missed this hendrix title. it wasn’t my favorite of his but i love the way he writes. surprisingly it was more matrix vibes than demonic cult vibes i was expecting. a solid weird read.

insane, disturbing, and possibly my favorite book cover ever because it totally conceals the depravity of this story.

a weird little tale. i guess my suspension of disbelief had a hard time clicking on for whatever reason while reading this. i was grossed out a bit but not disturbed. A+ cover art though

it’s been almost a year since i read this book and i think of it so often still. my first voyage into splatterpunk and joy did i jump in the deep end. absolutely love this novella.

for what this book is, it’s great. it’s basically like reading a syfy channel movie, but a good one! a great cast of characters, fun monsters, good lore. really enjoyed this. not scary or super gory. definitely a lighter intro to horror lit!

a haunting, heartbreaking, visceral study of grief and how the choices we make haunt us. this is cosmic horror, not a straightforward ghost story so think outside the box when approaching this. overall, a beautiful read.
