This book is the perfect example (and evidence, if needed) for how important *good* representation of marginalised groups in media is and always will be - how much it actually matters to those who are rarely or never given that privilege. I've been wanting to read Loveless since its release (and then four years passed, whoops), I already knew this book would not let me down but beyond my expectations, it really made me fall in love with it in its entirity. A story that resonated deeply with me, thanks to Oseman's very heart-warming, fun and enagaging writing and characters, a complete joy to read from start to finish; and a much needed empowerment for the aspec community (as well as our extended queer community).
Much like the character of Ellis in the book, I wish I could have had these kinds of stories and the knowledge about aspec identities 15 years ago when I was a teenager. I am all the more more grateful for them now and for the people who get to read them in their teens and for whom they will be a means of support and aid them and hopefully spare them a lot of hurt. ♡
