Someone says creepy woods and I’m there.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions: I laughed, I cried, I wanted to hit something, I wanted to hide. All in all, a book to really think about long after the last page.

I’m a firm believer that not every book needs to be groundbreaking or change the world or be a literary masterpiece. Sometimes readers are looking for comfort and escapism. And sometimes that comes in familiar plot lines and tropes and characters we’ve seen before.

Thanks to Grim and this book for allowing me to escape for a few days. And I suppose Oro too because he did grow on me by the end.

(I will say that I haven’t seen a character get injured so much since Bella Swan so take that as you will.)

This is not a book that’s meant to be devoured. Sit with this book, savor every page. Simply put: it’s haunting, atmospheric, and somehow also painfully romantic without the romance being a focal point.

If you’re looking for me, I’ve packed my bags and moved to Wyoming in search of a hot grumpy cowboy who doesn’t necessarily want to fall in love but does anyway.

This is my favorite of the Rebel Blue Ranch books. The emotion was spot on and Teddy is so painfully relatable (but in a good way). The tension and build up to the romance was just *chef’s kiss.* Not to mention the emphasis and importance that this book places on all types of relationships!

But I knew from the first moment these two interacted in Done and Dusted and I squealed “JUST KISS ALREADY” that they would be my favorite couple.

This is by far my favorite Emily Henry novel. Though I am not fresh off of a broken engagement nor living with said ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex, the way this book made me feel so seen also made me entirely too emotional in all the best ways. There is so much to love about this story: the depth of character development, the setting and secondary characters, Daphne and Miles, the laugh out loud moments and those that make you stop and stare at a wall. Will be thinking about this story for a long time.
