3.5

In my honest opinion, this book really grabbed my attention after I read 50% of it. Yeah, the story started to get interesting right after they lost something—their 'guest'.

This book has a bit of cuteness with the cat, but not too much. I kinda think that the book is more focused on literary elements and balancing them rather than the plot. It's packed with information connected to philosophical themes that I don't fully understand. Some of it is quite rare, I believe, because famous people are mentioned, yet the content of what they discussed is unfamiliar to me.

I've decided to give this book 3.5 stars! It's a so-so book, but I gained a lot of literary knowledge from it, so yeah, that's something.

Unfortunately, despite several aspects I found enjoyable in this book, I'll have to settle on a 3-star rating for this book.

Let me break it down:
1) While it does have a great plot and a heartwarming tone, the climax of the story doesn't quite meet my expectations. It was just ok.
2) I know that the symbolism of the koi is bringing luck, but ML's luck felt too overpowered (like his life is full of luckiness), which made the story feel a bit repetitive and dull.
3) As much as I'm willing to suspend disbelief for the sake of the fantasy genre, the intelligence level of the mc's kids (Bao #1) felt somewhat unrealistic, even within the context of the story.
4) The reveal of the mc's secret was underwhelming. I was hoping for BAAAAM things

On the bright side, the book shines in creating a cozy and heartwarming atmosphere. It provides plenty of humor and features well-rounded characters that add depth to the narrative. It's a comfortable read that doesn't throw too many emotional curveballs.

Ah so I am not an introvert type but I can relate some parts of this book because maybe I, myself, am an ambivert. I am in the middle of an extrovert and introvert.

Debbie's books always make me know how to be better. To love yourself and be free to do what you want. And what to do. It is a critical point. Not only that, the book has thick meanings and lessons for whoever reads them. This book really is enjoyable and suitable for 15yo or more.

This is really porn with plot. Though the plot just ... 20%. The emperor is the usual emperor (the bastard one I mean. And he is the ml. Duh) and their sex hotness .... 3.8/5 for me. Because it kinda lack of detail what they felt during their intercourse except pain and pleasure.
