i liked the beginning, and i loved the end.
the middle was really good as well, at times it felt a little slow but that is partly my fault because i took a week break in the middle of reading to read something else.
but overall LOVED THE TAYLOR SWIFT REFERENCES.
cornelia street!
part of why i loved this book so much is i was very recently in NYC and so i could picture the scene very clearly. emmitt is a cutie pie even if he was a flirt and i liked the romance. but i looovved the other conflicts. friendship, family (although this one didn't get resolved how i thought: the flashbacks/callbacks to how their family used to be was really bittersweet because yeah but over that)
very good representation (both characters poc!) and the side characters (lgbtq+ rep!) and real, honest problems. love.
and the TAYLOR SWIFT REFERENCES.
oh and he put on her seatbelt for her (romantic.)
and then booked out the movie theater for her (and put on her favourite movie oh and did i mention he hates movies)
the one thing i will say is the resolution felt a teeny bit rushed for MINA AND HER SISTER. and i didn't cry and i thought i would SORRY GUYS I KNOW IT'S SO BAD TO RATE A BOOK BASED ON IF IT MADE ME CRY OR NOT BUT I CRY EASILY SO IT'S NOT A HARD RATING.
but the epilogue was sooo good. i want that fanart. i was picturing and SHEESH

keep it up tashie! <3

mehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
it was kinda mid to be honest. i didn't love luna or rip, i mean i liked them well enough but luna's inner monologue was so boring and repitive.
I'M SORRY SHE JUST SAYS LEGIT LIKE
i'm loved. i'm happy. i have a house over my head, i'm lucky. i have a good job. i'm happy. this won't bother me.

AT LEAST FIFTEEN TIMES MINIMUM!!! THE SAME EXACT WORDS!!!!
like i appreciate your strength but it was over and over and over again and frustrating.

also something else that bugged me i don't think i knew a single thing about luna's physical appearance that was clear as day on paper. like i could assume some things but it's never explicitly stated which made it hard for me to visualize. i also would've liked more of luna with her sisters because it's used for a pretty important plot point and i feel like i didn't see enough of lily, kyra or thea.
the grovelling part was good at the end but again LUNA YOUR CHARACTER IS LIKE SO...STUCK IN A LOOP LIKE RIP ALREADY SAID HE WASN'T DOING THIS FOR A ULTERIOR MOTIVE AND I GET U HAD ALL THIS TRAUMA BUT HOW MANY TIMES DOES ONE AHVE TO SAY
anyway that's all except what happened to jason how come he got away pretty much scot-free that's such BS anyways part 2 ok goodbye mariana

i enjoyed heartbones by colleen hoover. i heart it.
there's a lot i can say about it but beyah and samson. and this one quote that stole my heart:
'two lonely kids who slipped through all the cracks, but then climbed right back up to the top of the world' AWWWWW MY HEART THIS IS SOO SAD.
i really liked the beginning and the middle but the end did kinda dimmed the ratings because i feel like suddenly samson and beyah had a moment and then the world turned upside down and everything was like?? and i feel like colleen definitely exaggerated how much beyah co-depended on samson like they had a connection and were close but not to the point where she was like "lemme throw away my college for this boy" but i am so glad she went to college.
"DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE BEYAH?"
yes yes yes yes yesssss
but again i love sara a lot i think she was a really cute side character and marcos yesss write a side novel on them please and again i took a lot of good quotes they were sad and cute
