I liked the superpowers and the idea of them having specific weaknesses, but the plot and characters were lacking compared to his other books. The ending was pretty good though!

The mystery was decent, but it could have been better executed. The side characters needed more development, and the ending needed one more chapter.

I'm glad I enjoyed this as much as the first book! I loved the characters, the politics, the secrets, and betrayals. Those last 100 pages had me on the edge of my seat! I can't wait for book 3!

This was a lovely story! It was a lot to take in at first but eventually, the characters grew on me.

This book was definitely strange. The writing was all over the place, which made for a confusing reading experience. It reads like a first draft in need of some serious editing. Though the concept was interesting and sometimes funny, it needed work.

I have zero desire to continue this, and I really need to stop forcing myself to finish these lacklustre romantasy books because I can feel them putting me in a slump!

Let's just say this book was not what I expected... The main character's voice felt so young that I was questioning whether this book was YA. Additionally, this is marketed as a romantasy, yet there is very little romance, and the little romance that was there felt forced and seemed to come out of nowhere. It honestly feels like the author added in the romance as an afterthought. The book primarily focuses on the plot of breaking the curse, which was bland and predictable.

My main issue with this book was that it was too long. The beginning had potential, but I was falling asleep by the midpoint. The romance wasn't bad, though it could have used more tension. The world-building also could have been stronger. Despite this, I thought the gladiator battle scenes were interesting and well-written!

I've come to the conclusion that I am not a fan of Christina Lauren's writing style. I found the characters in this so dull and annoying.

This wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it! It was fast-paced and engaging, and I liked the friendship between the girls. My only criticism was that the other characters' POVs felt unnecessary and randomly thrown in. We could have easily learned the information about the other characters' pasts through Ivy's conversations with them. The only other POV I thought was necessary was Lydia's at the end.

This was my first book by Abby Jimenez and I get what the hype is about! It was cute, funny, emotional, and with likable main characters, it had all the qualities of a perfect romcom!
