Sweet book. Not a challenging read. Extremely heavy-handed with the “otherness” and injustice of unequal treatment of those who are different.

I am not a frequent reader of fantasy/adventure books, but this was a stellar read. It had me smiling, laughing out loud, biting my nails with anticipation, and just generally excited to keep reading. It’s a fun fantasy story filled with queer characters and unpredictable twists and turns. The abundance of magical characters infused with relatable, human emotions made it such an enjoyable read.

I wouldn’t say this story is good for children (some sex scenes and discussion of violence), but I think it would be appropriate for teenagers and older.
