Mostly fine. I just wasn’t that interested, and I’d forgotten a key part of the plot of The Plot (heh) that would have made the mystery make more sense.

GOD, this was heartbreaking. Every page, I wanted to scream at the narrator to GET OUT NOW. The fragmented nature of the writing fits the story perfectly, these tiny snapshots of a terrible (and terribly ordinary) marriage.

It’s beautifully crafted and I couldn’t put it down. How she makes Dorothy so intriguing and relatable while also horrifying is beyond me.

Mostly fine. I think this was a novella, maybe? Wanted more adventures in the town, less time spent killing mutant humans and climbing walls . Will read the next one, tho.

So, I thought it felt a little off, a little under-edited…and then discovered it was published by what is essentially a vanity press. Cannot find evidence of traditionally published work or signs that she is an “acclaimed” author…her blurbs are book bloggers, which again is fine, but I was suspicious that she was “acclaimed” without major reviews or author blurbs. I’m interested, vaguely, but…probably not enough.

I kind of hate how much I loved this. Couldn’t put it down.
