My expectations were incredibly low, so I’m happy to say this exceeded them. The vampire/werewolf stuff was less cringey than I expected, and I was surprised the book had a decent plot outside of the romance. As someone who’s read a lot of fanfic on ao3 I wasn’t put off by the weirder aspects of the smut. I was also happy with how consent was emphasized and that the power dynamics between the characters weren’t icky.
