This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

MY FAVORITE AUTHOR HAS DONE IT AGAIN! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This book was phenomenal and made my heart burst several times! I absolutely ADORED the platonic soulmate bond Lucy and Bridget had, and it had me smiling & crying multiple times with the same love and bond I feel for my own bestie.

The way the ‘best friends brother trope’ was introduced and followed throughout the book was complete perfection. Once again, the way Carley flows back and forth between the present & the past is incredible and has me in awe. I just loved everything about this book, and am once again blown away by her talent and the stories & characters she writes!! 💙

Abby Jimenez has been all over my timeline recently, so I thought it was time to read some of her books - which I wanted to go in order of the series, even though they can be read as standalones.

I loved the age gap, the small town of Wakan, the variety of mental health based topics that were incorporated and processed, and Bri was by far my favorite character! There were several aspects of this book that I throughly enjoyed and that were incredibly powerful; however, there were some parts of the book (like various plot points or the writing) that just didn’t hit for me. I am really looking forward to the next two books - especially because those are the ones I’ve heard high praise for!

Emily Henry has done it again!!! She is the actual queen of romance books and I’ll take no other opinions! 💙🩷🩵🧡💛

I love Miles and Daphne so much it’s ridiculous! The character growth each of them experienced was so good and realistic & the trauma bonding and fake dating was everything to me! Like their exes left them for each other and it was so brutal but they got what they had coming in the end! While Daphne and Miles only found healing, growth, love, and found family!

This book was the perfect end to this series, and I’m going to miss them all so much - Mel taught me a lot about myself (as did Tara and Crystal)!

Mel and Evan were giving big Lorelai and Luke energy, and Cora’s Cove was very Stars Hollow to me. Loved it all so much!

Wowowowowow, Carley Fortune has done it again!!!! My heart went through it with this book - as it did with Every Summer After! It’s the way she perfectly encapsulates the past and present alongside one another & how it makes you sway back and forth between feelings of wholeness and emptiness (and I mean this in the very best way).

She became an auto buy author for me after I read her first book, and that has only been confirmed & intensified after finishing this one!

OH! MY! GOSH! This book was complete perfection and I am in  emotional shambles after finishing it!!! Layla Dupree had so many relatable feelings, thoughts, and fears - at times it almost felt like I was reading my own journal entry. And then there’s Caleb Alvarez, who is quite possibly the most perfect fictional man I’ve ever found…like the amount of butterflies I had was truly absurd! 😍🥹 ALSO the spice in this book was 100000/10 for me.

I've loved all of the Lovelight books, but this one is by far my favorite! 🥰

This book series gives me all of the comfort and joy that Gilmore Girls does, and it was only heightened with this one. WHY? Beckett Porter is Luke Danes and no one can convince me otherwise!!

Honorable Mention: The! Tattoos! And! Their! Placements! This small plot point had me smiling like a damn fool. 🥹
