Interesting premise. Creepy atmosphere. worst trope ever with pregnancy. Also how sudden it is like hey you must get pregnant to break the curse. Then later but you know if its a girl it keeps going. Cool if you like paranormal creepy angel and demon vibes this might be for you.

Apart from the classic why didn't you do something this way instead of the thing you really shouldn't have to advance plot at a certain point this was a dark, sexy fun ride. The vibes were creepy, the romance steamy, Leon and Rae were an interesting couple and the mystery and monsters were scary enough to be intriguing. I like the unique premise that there are 3 stories happening at the same time but you can read any of them as standalone or read them all as a complete story. I wonder if there is a multi book chapter readalong. If you like witchy demon books with some spice this is pretty good.

I think all the other books really were just set up for this monster. You really got to enjoy the plotting, the found family, the politics, the heartbreak. Secrets get revealed. Battles are hard fought. And through it all our characters are absolutely unique and insane. Fun series overall. I think the 3rd and 4th books really brought this story together and ended on a high note.

Reads quite YA to start. Almost nostalgic with the love triangle trope written here. Rian is her childhood love and someone who she has conflicted feelings for after she is given alot of responsibilities due to her family's roles as guardians of a temple. Caelan is a Fire elemental who is staying with her who seems to make her burn in more ways than one. When Rian is kidnapped and taken out of the world she knows this book opens up to become almost a portal fantasy with a lot of whimsy and fun puzzles. It gets serious and dark at the end with a satisfyingly heartbreaking conclusion. All in all a good book for those that enjoy a nostalgic Love Triangle book with strong side characters and an interesting world to dive into.my main critique with this book is the insta love/smut. I feel like it was a little out of left field for the tone of the book. The first love scene could have moved where the second one was for a bit more impact. Also dayum they were frisky in front of their friends in the woods. Just felt a bit fast for me anyway.

I think the start was kinda slow. But once this got going it became more than just a run of the mill monster romance. Jax saves Macy from the sea after she was going to reject her childhood love. She is then trapped and looked after by him and they converse and learn a bit about each other's worlds. After a certain point where she is taken to the krakens home is where it picked up for me and i enjoyed the "first encounters" of the Krakens having to put aside prejudices which only happens when Macy selflessly goes to save the youngling. I loved the relationship development and the tensions and the good communications when someone was upset about something. It felt real and sweet. It was a well wrapped up story that is still open for more. Some of the side characters sound interesting enough to continue the series for.

Good book for what I needed after a surgery when I couldn't concentrate on anything. Very sweet fast paced not too smutty romance. Does it do anything new- not really. Was it cute and fun - yes. Would I read more of her books - yes. August and Elodie unwittingly get stuck together during a "heat" where if they end up having sex they will be stuck together forever. Spoiler tropes below. Strangers in close proximity with caring and some stakes for not getting together.

As much as I love the concept of this series. It could have been 3 books if we weren't having to read about Emelins insecurities for massive chunks of the books. I loved so many of the side characters but there didn't seem to be any real stakes in the series. The final battles were pretty lackluster. I was waiting the whole series for something to happen and nothing really happens. So many questions are left unanswered. Luckily I had read the prequel so I knew some back story to some characters in here. I just got really nothing out of this.

I should have just stopped when I stopped enjoying it but I had paid for the audiobook so thought I would rough it out and it didn't get better. Reia annoyed me so much as a character she was horrible and manipulative and not nice to be in her head. Orpheus was a golden retriever type with obvious self control issues he is fighting throughout the book. I thought the premise was interesting it just wasn't for me.

Call me crazy but this is the best one so far. Finley has been taken captive and discovers she isn't as alone as she thought. Yes alot of this book happens in the dungeons and alot of torture etc but we get to have a lot more side characters developed. More POVs including Nyfain and Hadrial broke up the story a bit and kept the pacing going. 1 book to go in this absurd fever dream of a series
