partially read this to deal with my burned out gifted kid trauma and live vicariously through them. i wish my college life was also about self-indulgence and learning about the classics. oh and murder.

i'm torn between a 3.5 and a 4 but i'll be nice and round it up, specially because of those last 100 pages. i'm so confused. i already knew a few spoilers so i'm not exactly surprised about some things, but that being said, the ending is so confusing to me knowing the relationship that's coming in the next book. also i know everyone is whipped for rhysand already but i can't move on from lucien (you're cute too tamlin).

now remembering the ritual in the spring court, bro. that alone makes me want to give it a 3. i can't believe i read that and didn't put down the book. all the weird fanfics i've read prepared me for that chapter.

edit: me giving this the same score i gave beach read feels illegal. in the end, remember this is a 3.5, please.

edit 2.0: after reading the second book, this is a 3.

the kissing in the rain was a bit too on the nose, but we'd all be lying if none of us ever dreamed of that happening. *writing in a notebook intensifies* marry me, gus everett.

the beginning was a bit slow but all the mysteries and the characters involved were *chef's kiss*. that plot twist at the end, holy moly, and i can't wait to see where xander's character goes because he is definitely more than just the comedic relief.

also, if i see another thirst edit of jameson i swear, i'mma fight. personally i'm more of a savior complex nash type of gal.
