I may be one of the few who didn't really like this book. Sorry, but I like TATBILB more. The story is all over the place. It just fell flat for me. I didn't get excited nor intrigued. Didn't like the MC either, I couldn't connect with her. The only thing that pushed me to finish this book was the fact that they made it a series and I want to be done reading before the series comes out. I just hope the series is more enjoyable.

I still love Jenny Han though. So I will still read Book 2 and 3.

Bookworm Kpop fans would love this book. It's what teenage daydream fantasies are made of. Ordinary girl meets super popular, talented, and cute boy. However, she had no idea at first he's popular. Secret romance trope. This is a cute and fun light read. I just couldn't connect to the story since I'm not a Kpop fan and I'm probably too old for this. Love the Korean food mentioned in this book though. LOL

A mix of poetry and story telling. I wanted it to be good and be amazed. The book overall is just okay. Wasn't moved by it, sorry. Like it's missing something.

It was ok. Not really obsessed with it. Sorry BookTok. The dialogues are super cheesy. Do people talk like that IRL? I don't think so. There were a lot of cringe moments. Storyline is predictable and I'd have to agree 100% with another reviewer... the 2 main characters were one-dimensional and heavily based on stereotypes. Spice level though is 5/5 BUT still cringey for me. I wanted to love this book just like the others who've read it. I just can't. Not sure if I'll read Book 2. I don't want to be disappointed again.

Did not finish book.
On Hold at 30%. Sorry. I tried so hard to keep reading this and push through, I can't. It's soooo Zzzzz. Why is it a struggle for me yet a lot of readers have enjoyed the book? I hope one day I'll be able to finish.

After 2 books that were so underwhelming... finally! I was so worried I would get into another reading slump so I was praying this book would save me and lighten my mood. Christina Lauren, your writing style is a breath of fresh air. *air kisses* I'm glad I chose your book this time.

From the book description itself, you can see that it is an interesting plot. Imagine a DNA-based dating app telling you and a guy are a 98% match. What would you do? Would you even try to know the other person a bit more? What if GeneticAlly, the company who created the app, tells you they'll pay you to date the other person to see the app's accuracy and help with marketing, would you give it a chance?

Follow Jess, single mom of a 7 year old kid named Juno, who works as a freelance statistician, and River, scientist and GeneticAlly's founder, as they explore their compatibility and doubt each other's intentions while falling helplessly in love with each other. Not quite the fake dating trope but if that's your thing, you'll definitely love this.

Fresh, different, charming, and funny. Highly recommended if you're looking for a light read with that warm and fuzzy feeling. My fave character? Fizzy, Jess's best friend who has the funniest and craziest lines in this story.

This is actually my first Christina Lauren book and I'd absolutely read another one from her. *adds all Christina Lauren books to TBR list*
