The whole post apocalyptic theme and world was very intriguing concept. I listened to the audio and it was really hard to get into the characters Beth voice but also it jumped around a lot. I had to read a synopsis along side to know who was who and follow along. It was very chaotic on whose character I was reading about.

I've always had the feeling that something can be done with the state of America. He comes with facts and actionable ways to get change to happen. It left me hopeful and more knowledgeable.

So many books push this narrative of needing to do more be more especially in a society that can be all about money but there's plenty of ways Shoji explains we have value. Us merely existing is value enough. Uts a whole read with no pressure to be grand.

This was definitely an emotional read especially reading after Poppy Wars. I Loved the writing style and each of the characters. They're were points that it dragged but then again it's a scholarly novel. I loved listening to the audiobook. Apparently this has footnotes and I'm guessing the women that read was reading those so it was a nice breakage to hear her explain further.
I definitely cried for my favorite character
Ramy
and I wish more happened to
Letty
and I hope to continue
Victoire
story!!
