thank you so much to the author for sending me an ARC of her debut novel!

i went into this book unsure what to expect but this book pleasantly surprised me and i ended up liking it more than i thought i would. this book was such an easy read and i absolutely devoured it. second chance lovers is one of my favourite tropes and i really enjoyed seeing the contrast between their blossoming relationship in college and their reconnection as working adults.

however, there were several things that lowered my rating. while themes like difficult familial relationships and grief were mentioned, i did also feel that there was potential for a deeper level that was not reached. i also would have enjoyed seeing more of the healthy female friendship bond between renee and her 2 besties. another issue i had was that the interactions between renee and nick in the present timeline felt more superficial than those in the past.

nevertheless, i still really enjoyed this book and i thoroughly enjoyed myself during this read!
