A very Velma and scooby type read. I really like it but unfortunately I read the second one (death in the dark woods) first and this one just wasn’t as good. The mystery lacked depth and was disappointingly uneventful but I absolutely loved the characters and the story of them trying to solve this monster mystery. Would of liked if it was more mystery driven then characters and maybe a bit darker but still a 4/5
Graphic: Death, Panic attacks/disorders, Grief, Death of parent, and Murder
Moderate: Gore, Mental illness, Violence, Kidnapping, and Death of parent
Minor: Animal death, Child death, Domestic abuse, Blood, and Car accident

It’s very sex in the city if Carrie was a mystery writer who was trying to solve a crime. As a sex in the city fan and a lover of mystery’s I really enjoyed this read. If you love Carrie from sex in the city, you’ll love Sophie! This was written in the early 2000’s and it has that aesthetic of y2k fashion divas solving mysteries which makes it an even more enjoyable read
