It almost feels disloyal to say this but I didn't love this one. Things were either too basic (multiple recipes are actually just lists of what to put on a charcuterie board) or altered recipes you've seen before (subbing in mushrooms for meat in her pasta sauce recipe) or reliant on high end ingredients (lobster mac and cheese). I love Ina but this ain't it for me.

I really loved this book, it's a bit like Humans of New York where they got candids of elderly people they saw on the street and tried to get them to talk about themselves a little. I guess the only thing that disappointed me was that I wish it was longer? (Boston has a Chinatown but that didn't make the cut, Brooklyn and Queens didn't make it in there either and those are just the ones I'm familiar with.) But it's a complete delight to read
