feel bad for giving it this ratin but the writing wasn't up to my taste.
ruth for sure lived a very turbulent life and reading about it was interesting at times but also the writing itself felt really choppy with lots of facts put at once at times and i found myself not enjoying it as much as i thought i would.

idk if its just me bc majority of the reviews are either 4 or 5 stars but i found this book incredibly bland and boring 🤷‍♀️ couldn't connect to the characters at all. only good thing was that archer actually knew how to communicate in a relationship and there wasnt unnecessary miscommunication. otherwise can't say i enjoyed myself much reading it. writing was good but eh nothing much to it
beautiful writing, so many tender moments that were written so sweetly at times that my teeth would start hurting.
a little bit insta-love-ish and very 0 to 100 from the start, but nevertheless, it is a very enjoyable read. writing was really good

“I would rather love a coward than mourn a legend.”
My lecturer had said to us once that parents were their children’s fate, not only in the way of the tragedies, but in many other smaller, yet no less powerful ways as well. I knew that if I had a daughter, she would live partly because of the way I had lived, and her memories would be my memories, and she would have no choice in that matter.
