If I could give this book a 10/10, I would. What a spectacular tale! I have not read something so intense, so heart-wrenching, and so full of back story in a long time. You have these rich white douche bags in a secret society and have money and magic flowing through their linegae and veins and all they want is to be bigger more powerful. Then walks in this bad ass young black girl who has no idea about her powerful lineage and what will be asked of her. She can change this secret society for the better, and with the help of Nick and Sel and even Alice, maybe just maybe they can survive what is to come and bring light to the society's horrible history and be better, do better. This book was too good to put down, and I am already listening to the second one as I write this review.

What a ride. This book gave you all the creepy bits with the clients. This isn’t your garden variety therapist either. Plus she’ll stop at nothing to make sure she can thrive and her family can too. Fast paced. Easy read till the end.

What. In. The. World. Did. I. Read. I’m a fan of weird. I’m a fan of books that most think are terrible. This book was good until it ended. I’m not a huge fan of endings that don’t give you answers. Like what happened to the girl. Why did these people make them go down in the water. What was down there? What was it saying to them. Why were they turning into what they were turning into. What were they turning into. I was getting into it and then it ended with no answers. Not a huge fan of that.

From the first chapter I was intrigued. The whole point it to get to the end and see who led the third wife to die. I was t expecting the ending, I honestly thought it was going to be darker. I did think the way it needed was perfect for the narrative and characters. It made sense and you still go, wow this family is totally wild.

To be quite honest I have no idea what I listened to. I loved the idea and concept of a retelling of Alice in Wonderland, and that there was a queer twist to it. There was just so much going on, nothing made sense and I hope that was due to us needing to know something we didn't know yet. But then the book was done and I felt I had more questions than answers. I didn't hate the listen but I don't know if I quite understood the half of it either. I still gave it a four rating because this whole reimagining of the story was so thought-out and so otherworldly I have to give the author props.

I enjoyed this story tremendously. The story had so much heart and tragedy mix in with the lore of Ireland. Having a past and future look into a period of time through the eyes of a woman who had also gone through so much. I was dedicated to know what happened to not only Anna but Sarah too! I wanted to say each time the woman encountered something other worldly “I do believe in faeries! I do! I do!)

This book was full of twists and turns. The story at its heart is about how rich people think they can do whatever they want and ruin people’s lives and think there will be no consequences. In this book the consequences were rough. There were a few parts that were hard to get through. Rough topics but all in all the ride was intense and left me feeling satisfied with how it ended.

It’s been a hot second since the first book came out so getting into this book was a bit hard in the beginning. I was trying to remember who was who and what had happened in the last book. Luckily as the story got into full force the author gave us insights to the last book to help with my memory. The story was interesting and very sleuth-y. I like the idea of what Verasity does and is, especially in this AI world we live in. The way it was left makes me think k another book is coming. When that will be who knows but I’ll be there when it does. The characters are full of life and some mysterious. I’m really rooting for Claudia and Becks but I dunno maybe that will change with this Dream character coming into play. All in all very good story for the second book, medium paced.

I have so many thoughts running through my head. The fact the ending of this book left me feeling empty and with even more questions makes me question myself on hey I read it so fast! Ha! Now it’s the waiting game again. I cried. I laughed but mostly I cried.
