We return to the Investigating Love series with another big mystery to solve. In this one they have to find a staker and a man threatning to unleash a biological weapon. In the meantime they have other issues with one subject exposing all their their secrets and try to turn their team against each other.
In this book we finally see Cassie and Lincoln finally admitting their interest into one another, but taking small baby steps. Maybe the next one shows their relationship grow.
If you're into a cozy read with mystery and a sparkle of romance this one is for you!

I was really glued to this one. It was addictive. The way I needed to see what came next made me stuck with it every chance I got!
This story has it all. The love and romance, the mystery, danger and suspense, the banter and strong characters, and an amazing family and support system that everyone would be happy to have.
Aspen is a private investigator and receives a request to look into a serial killer in a small town. Her curiosity gets the best of her and she decides to go and check it out. Barely after arriving in town she becomes one of the killrr's victims but she manages to survive. And from there on she has a target on her back.
Crew is a firefighter and even if he was a shady and dark past he righted himself and is an active and exemplar member of their small town community. When they go in to erase a fire, he doesn't expect to be a victim there. Even less when that person is Aspen, the woman he was attracted to. He rescues her and from there on out he becomes her protector.
They start spending so much time together that it's a matter of time until they give into those feelings (maybe one of his brothers gave a little push on that end.. 🤭). But once they admit what they feel.. it's an emotion overload, in a very good way.
I was surprised by the outcome. I really didn't see that one coming along.
I can't wait for the next ones in this series!!

This was a sweet Valentine's day themed story to melt our little hearts. It was heartwarming and conforting and gives us all hopes for true love and romance. It shows the good in people, even the ones who are not related and are just helpfull because of the sence of community and belonging. I would really like such a place existed IRL.
Cammie is left in a tough spot when she is forced to leave her Flower shop because of rent price being escalated to an impossible standard. She is sent to a small town, to start fresh, and when she gets there and meets it's pleople she is blown away. They have such a sense of community and welcome her with open arms that almost feels to good to be true.
And here she meets Allen. He is helping her renovate the space she rented to her new store, and he is kind, considerate, sweet, protective and offers so much care and attention that she might believe he couldn't be real. But he is, and he fell fast for her, and just wants her to realise that even if she had bad experiences, he is not like the people she used to know. He is 'it', and he really is showing her that, one kindness at at a time.

“If kindness makes you cry, Cammie,” he murmured, his voice gentle but resolute, “then I hope you’re ready to cry a river because I have no intention of ever being anything else to you.”

"Any man lucky enough to win your heart should cherish you every day of the year"

I loved those happy feelings and the sense of love coming from him. It was such a sweet romance to make me swoon. I really recommend this one!

I've been following Pecker's story since Tuft Swallow, and he sure is a sweet at heart. It was nice watching him find his place and find love.
He is a police officer and has moved to another town to help his sister after her divorce.
Sophie is a young and sweet girl, and trully a daddy's girl and being the youngest in the family is really protected. She has a strong and good family thet love one another and gave her all the confidence she needs.
They meet when she goes visit her cousin and they hit it of from the begining.
This was a sweet and feel good kind of book, with little drama and can be read in one sitting.

Phoebe is an artist and is slowly starting to flourish in the world. She has it all. The begginjng of a successfull career, her celebrity fianceĂ© and her friend/family/brothers in his fiancee/brother's band.
After her success in her art showing she decides to surprise him after his concert and there is definatly a surprise there but not a good one.
She catches him in the act cheating and breaks things off. On the next day he dies in an accident and the fans blame her.
So, besides mending her broken heart, she has to heal physicaly too.
Axel is the drummer in a famous band. He loves his 'band member brothers' and loves one woman in particular. One he can never have.
When her fianceé dies he makes sure to be eveything she needs. Her friend, her confident, her protector, just because her happiness means everything to him.Even if his feelings arent returned and if their relationship his just impossible he goes to the moon and back for her.
And then she is in danger, being threatened by a possible angry fan, and she has to spend more time with him. Laying low.
But being close meens that some thing are felt differentlty, and are even felt stronger, and even she realises what she is starting to feel. But how? How can she give in to another celebrity rockstar? Even if his behaviour is anything but humble? What will her brother think? And all the fans? Will they be in more danger?
I really liked all the characters. That family vibe between the band, and with her.
Phoebe was sweet but also independent, and even fierce when she had to (that revenge with the paint was genius).
Axel was pure perfection. Could the man be any more sweet? He was so supportive and caring for her. A perfect marshmallow. Just perfect. And when that protective side of him came out? Just swooning here.
I really enjoyed the suspense and mystery. Even if I had a suspicion on the person responsible, I got the motive all wrong, and I was happy to be surprised. I do live a good twist!
I got that feeling of being welcomed in this new world, and I would love to see all those side characters have a voice of their own. Maybe someday.. starting with Lena, maybe?  :)

Everly returns to her small town after receiving an invite to the town's anual festival, The Kiss Lottery, for Valentine's Day. She tells herself that it's just for work, and that she'll interview the members but deep down she just wants to know who invited her. To know if it was him.
In the begining of this story it was sad to see how lonely she felt and how she had to hide it and fake all that strong attitude to pretend to be all she was not. After all , the bullies were still there and she could not appear weak.
How can high school hates and bulling still affect us so much in adult life? I guess some scars run deeper than we thought they would.
Beckett was kind of an idion when he was a teenager and left her after she was vulnerable. He knows he made a mistake, but with time it was harder and harder to go back. So when she arrives back in town he sees an opportunity.
Time, and the festival, make them closer together day by day. And with some courage to bury old ghosts they make their way into each other.
In this rom-com we have lovable characters, funny moments, and an easy going vibe that makes this story bingeable.
But in between the romance and laughter this story shows us that maybe sometimes, the things that scare us the most and that we end up running from are the ones we need the most.

Here we pick up where book one left us. With Jessica in danger and West running to her to help and protect her.
After that night in danger, West took Jessica to live with him to keep her safe. He realises that there are no limits to what he would do to protect her. But having her around is messing with him. She is getting closer and that stirs feelings within him. And he is not used to that. He tries to be detached, but clearly it's not working. But can he star to trust her with his secrets?
Jessica feels safe around West. It's strange to trust someone after so little time, but she is confortable with him and even if she is looking for a place of her own, she secretly hopes that she could stay there forever. But she wants him to open up more? How can she do it? Being his friend? Seducing him? Both?
In this part of the story we have a more emotional discovery (even with a lot of spice too), but we start understanding them a bit more.  Jessica maintains her good girl and rule follower personality and West is a really morally grey man. But that only makes him more interesting, right?

In the end West decides to let her in. But what secrets will she discover? We end in a big cliffhanher and now I need book 3 to know what happens next!

Maeve is a sucessfull single mom who is used to be the caretaker of everyone around her. She is happy when those around her are happy. But who takes care of her? Who puts her needs first if even her neglets that?
Logan is a billionaire, but is very down to earth. He has money and power but inside he is a little bit nerdy, and likes to please others.
They meet at an aeroport bar and one thing leads to another and their attraction leads to a one night stand. Once at home she doesn’t think they will se each other again.. but she is so wrong. He ends up hiring her as a interior designer and even if unwillingly they start spending time in each other company. It helps that he as fallen and fast, so he takes every chance he gets to be there.
As her world starts to crumble he is there to help and provide a solution. Does she believe it will end up in a happy ever after? No. But he durely goes all the way to change her mind.
The story was well built, had character growth and an interesting story and plot.
I could understand Maeve perfectly and got her need for control. And I understood why she was so strict. She needed someone who cared for her too.
Most of all, I loved Logan. He is a sweet, kind, and caring man that when the situation calls for it can be all alpha and protective. I loved the combination.
I really like this family dynamics, since book one. The siblings interactions are fun and show affection, care, concern and love for one another.
I'm really looking forward to Quinn's story.

Genevieve fells like something is missing. Like she is always left behind and second choice. She needs answers, and after some reserch she learns about someone who can give her some answers she so desperatly needs.
She finds herself in another house of deadly games and now forced to share them with someone who she despises at first glance.
When Genevieve entered Enchantra, she unexpectedly met her match. She is a sassy and feisty woman who can stand for herself, and usually that makes her win. When she meets Rowin, on the other hand... he gives back as much as she does and their banter and fighting is well suited for both.
Genevieve had a habbit of finding and getting herself in trouble. So the nickname he chose for her was actually perfect and suited for her. Loved that detail.
Rowin is trapped in Enchantra and is desperatly trying to get him and his family out. When Genevieve enters the mansion she was not the help he was expecting to get but maybe he could use her for his advantage. But there's a very thin line between love and hate right? So thin that with every moment together it starts to blur. But is love enough? Can trust really be earned in between so many secrets and games?

"I don’t know who told you that you weren’t good enough, but they were fucking wrong. You’re more than good enough. Your heart is more than good enough. No matter how many times it has been burned. How many scars it might have . It will keep on beating, brave and passionate, if you will only let it.”

“I want you to know, I really would have waited for you, right here, forever if that’s what it would have taken. I would have stood in this spot until I could no longer distinguish my own soul from the shadows. Until your light came back to me.”

I really missed this thrill. The unknown, the uncertainty of what comes next and the danger that brings our main characters together despite hating one another. Those little moments where we see them change their perspective and start turning hate to care and concern and to blinding love. We have all that in this amazing well built world and story. The author provides such detailed perceptions that we can almost feel like we're there, watching all these scenes unfold.
I laughed at their interaction and banter, bacause..come on! Genevieve and her mouth... her words may be one of her gratest weapons.  And I gasped an held my breath at several moments of greater danger and suspense, and I really didn't see that turn of events and was like "WTH?" until those twists were explained and solved.
I really, really loved this book. I read it non-stop since I got it and I wanted to continue in this story for a lot longer.

Raven grew up with a lot of trauma and baggage, but thanks to her brother she was kept safe and protected. He and his friends made sure of that.
So she was always perceived as the little one and the little sister. She grew up and started having feelins for one of her brothers friends. She shouldn't but she can't help loving him all the same.
Otto trully lived up to his nickname.. he was really a burly bear! He was protective as hell, but that was because he loved so so hard. He had already lost so much so it was really understandable his need to keep safe the ones he trully cared about. And ohh boy, does he care about her. But she is his forbidden fruit. He can't allow himself to have her.
But when she starts being in danger all bets are off and they are forced to be closer than ever. And that proximity is dangerous for both of them since they start giving in to their mutual feelings.
Just as in the first book, that found family vive and friendship was very present and it is one big point in my oppinion. I really like all the group and I can't wait for their story.
