Sadly, this was not my favorite from Chloe Liese.  I just did not connect with Will and Juliet, their story was boring to me. I also found that it was slightly too long. It could be because I read a five-star right before this one, but this just did not hit for me.

This was sadly a miss for me. The half-baked murder plot was more annoying than anything else. Like I get it, I don't trust the cops either but you just murdered someone girl?!?
And the resolution for the murder is just "Oh he had a heart attack, no worries girl" ?? The way it was wrapped up in a neat little bow like that made it even more annoying ugh!
The insta-love made the romance subpar at best. I think this story would have been more interesting if we leaned into the journalism side of the plot more. I would have loved to get more insights into Tyler and the story that Khin was supposed to be writing but that fell to the side for the murder plot. This one just fell flat for me and the more I think about it the more annoyed I get.

I picked this book up at a local author signing and it was a quick read! It was very predictable, but it was sweet. This is a Christian romance story, which I do not normally reach for. I did like the fact that our characters had a history together, which helped me believe their love story more.

I was holding onto this one one of my favorite movies of all time is 10 Things I Hate About You, another Taming of the Screw retelling. There was a scene in here inspired by the movie and I ATE IT UP! Overall I had a great time with this one. This author usually writes characters that are neurodivergent or chronically ill, which I appreciate and love to read about. The characters were relatable, and only a little too quirky. This was a sweet romance and I had a fun time.
