I genuinely enjoyed this book so much more than her other one. The characters were much less frustrating and MMC was great. I think the FMC was a bit simple and I maybe wanted a little more from her but overall a good spooky read that gives crimson peak/mexican gothic/diavola vibes

I really enjoyed being back in this world despite the fact that I thought I wouldn’t be able to stand it. Snow is terrible but Collins does a great job of showing his humanity and making his POV really captivating. I felt the third act dragged on but I still enjoyed it.

It was fine. It felt like everything happened very conveniently to the point where it was just kind of hard to get into. If you want a very surface level romance this is a very light summer read.

I adored this book. If the saying ‘hurt people, hurt people’ could be a book this would be it. Just a great read if you’re looking for some depth and complexity.

I find it very difficult to understand the hype on this one. I found the dialogue incredibly clunky and awkward and it pulled me out of it regularly. I also found the plot to be… completely implausible. Football player turned country singer turned chef and he was not only great at all of them but also seemed to passionately love all of them. The FMC was a Mary sue to the point that they even point out her perfections in the book. Every struggle seemed to be overcome within a chapter with no long term consequences. I don’t know… I’m baffled people love it 🤷‍♀️

Very captivating read with a lot of excellent characters. I found it a bit hard to follow time wise and found myself lost occasionally which brought me out of the story. I think with out that this would be a 5 star for me

Evelyn Hugo meets Abby Jimenez and I loved it. Nothing has topped Funny Story for me yet and I’m maybe a little sick of reading about authors but still loved the story.

I think I almost found this book a little over hyped… maybe anti-climactic. I still loved the stories of everyone involved and it’s so well written I think maybe part of the problem was I loved them so much I wanted more. Such a unique idea that kept me coming back.

This book is so hard to rate… it was captivating but also hard to get into… satisfying but also frustrating? I have to go straight down the middle because I liked it… I think? I don’t know. Nestlings is still one of my top ten of all time though.

So cute. I’m definitely biased and funny story is my ride or die but as of right now this is definitely my second favorite on my journey to being an Emily Henry completist
