This book has some really amazing quotes, ones that I will remember throughout my marriage for a lifetime. One of my favorites aligned with comparing a Category 5 Hurricane to marriage and how sometimes relationships might go through these hurricanes, but hurricanes are rare. Some islands prepare for them, some don't and the ones who don't are the ones destroyed. Absolutely riveting writing and Hoover made me feel EXACTLY what she wanted me to throughout the book. I wouldn't say I like either of the characters much, but that is probably because of how realistic they were. The way Hoover is able to weave through miscommunication is incredible. Powerful emotions move across the pages like a wave of ocean water.
While I may not resonate with the characters or the plotline, credit is due to the author for providing the characters with a distraught personal crisis throughout the whole book.
