I enjoyed this one best so far I think, in terms of plot, dialogs, writing in general, and I continuously try to keep in mind that it's meant for a younger audience, but the farther along I get the more it's bothering me in terms of diversity. This one especially. All the ladies are so missing from the action. Even Evanlyns awesomeness was quaint and practically background noise. There are no woman warriors /soldiers etc? I call bull on that much. That's only focusing on the lack of gender diversity, let alone other diversity. They're enjoyable books /ideas /stories, but it could be better, even with kids being the primary audience. An optimal example of such possibilities is Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan, which is a series I love and has done very well, so don't try making excuses against it. It's fiction, anything is possible, and especially in a children's stories, they need people to look up to like them, not showing woman as the meager back up characters who are mothers, or fighting each other over a boy.

Again, they're enjoyable, but it could definitely be better.

I still give a 4 out of 5 because it was my favorite in terms of writing and plot thus far.
