OHMYGOD. I cant handle this book IT WAS SO GOOD but also SO STRESSFUL. it was amazing and I tore through it and i think i was so reluctant to start it because i really didnt want it to be over, but im glad i finally picked it up.
Cassie never ceases to amaze me, i fall in love with her characters and stories, and the way she connects every string and plotline and character together to make such a clean story blows my mind. I loved seeing all of the old characters get to mix in with the new, she did it in such a perfect way that i laughed and smiled and cried.
I read another series with a connected world between adult characters and teens, and i distinctly remember the author saying she couldnt actually make them all meet because the adults would just solve all of the kid's problems, but Cassie had zero problems dealing with that aspect. She made it seem flawless that they all struggled, they faced problems together and seperately in a perfectly constructed way. I loved that and i feel like it shower what a great writer she is.
Now im dying for more books though and it felt like she just set up SO MANY MORE UGH.

I know it's literally in the name and all, but i still had hope and jfc im mad at this book. Why do i do these things to myself? Siigh
AUGH.
I loved it, but also UGHH! Mackenzi did amazing, the representation was great, confirmed pan and genderqueer Loki is best Loki, great characters, i felt so many things for my baby. And my favourite thing about this is how well she nailed Lokis character. It blended perfectly, the sarcasm and wit was perfect, the scheming and mischief was beautiful, the feelings of inadequacy and injustice, the struggle between Good and Evil, just perfect.
The ending was not as perfect as id hoped, but that might just be because i never want to say goodbye to Loki.

This was the first book I've read by Victoria Schwab, though she's long been on my TBR list and I was so excited to finally get around to it, and she did not disappoint.
It wasn't all quite like i expected in terms of the story line, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I loved the concepts and ideas, the world she created is super cool and I loved the way she explained things, made them understandable and comparable to our reality without it feeling forced or boring.
I loved the characters and their contradictions, the tone of the story was gorgeous, the dark and grittiness was exiting and had just the right amount of emotion and twists of horror.
My only complaint was the story line was a bit light, and i wish there had been a deeper dive into August and Kates relationship.
Still, I love Victoria's writing style, I love Victoria, I'm already plowing through book two, and I'm about to push every other book of hers to the top of my TBR list.
