This was such a fun little read, exciting and cute, very fun characters and a charming story.

It was a bittersweet ending and it made me feel so much, which is the best thing a book can do. It also did a freaking fantastic job at connecting everything together, it was beautifully wrapped up.

This was a fun read, I really enjoyed the concept and seeing the cute queer rom com take place among the southern Bible belt, you really got to see so many sides of that life being explored. Lots of fun characters, lots of cute lines. I had a good time and I enjoyed the overall vibe of teen romcom but make it a gay mystery that she had going.

This had a campy and fun feel to it, but honestly it rather annoyed me that we didn't get to see the MC do anything of real merit. They talked a lot about her past bank robbing and thieving but we didn't see her actually fight anyone or do anything exceptionally clever, some other people did some cool things and that was about it. There were even some scenes where she was painted extremely naive, which was very annoying. It was not what I had been expecting going into it and was rather disappointed.

I whole heartedly enjoyed the hell out of this book, I zipped through the whole thing so quickly, I couldn't put it down. The whole story was charming and fun and cute, I was super into it and made extra time to be able to finish it.

A couple of bits I felt could have been better, the climax and resolution were a little anticlimactic. I don't think it was as grandeur and extravagant as I'd have expected for the pace and plot, it just felt like it was a little too small scale to fit in with the story.
And I felt like the intimate scene needed fleshed out a little more, I think we needed a deeper level of intimacy there. And not necessarily spice, but the pre-spice scenes is such an opportunity for real vulnerability and closeness and it felt like it faded to black too soon. Or it could have even been achieved afterward through pillow talk! I think that may be why the climax and resolution felt a tad flat, it seemed like we still hadn't reached that level of bonding and intimacy so no huge romantic display or a revelation left the pairing feeling a little lacking. None of it was bad by any means, I still loved the whole story and give it 5 stars.

It was fun, it was a great pace, wonderful characters, I loved every little Cinderella spin that was out into it, the whole concept was amazing. The dialogue and the relationships, I loved that the step family weren't mean at all but there was a space of hesitancy and unsureness between them that felt real and human and it worked. Loved the meet cute and the design elements. Everything else was amazing, and I highly recommend it!!

Kind of rating closer to 3.5 than a 4 but it was personal preference. The ending wasn't quite what I'd hoped for and it brought my love of the book down, it was going at a solid 5 star read from chapter 4 to like the last few chapters. There was also one other portion of the book, the way certain aspects of the relationships went down that just rubbed me the wrong way.
Overall a very good book and story, it lost some points for me over little things that were personal preferences. It definitely has me considering checking out more thriller romances though!
