I read book 2 in this series last year and I loved it, so I finally picked up this one to read and I loved it! I loved the MMC and FMC so much, and I loved their growth sm. I adored how much Pippa grew to love making music after her ex humiliated her with it. I need everyone to read this book as it was so good and such an easy read!!

Quotes:
- “I step onto the landing at the top of the steps, I lean my weight onto his arm. “Why’d you wear these ridiculous shoes?” I shrug. “Because they’re hot.” His gaze lingers on my legs. “Yeah” is all he says.”
- “You’re beautiful,” he says quietly. I smile up at him. “You make me feel beautiful.”
- “I have feelings for you, songbird.” My heart pounds, and the rest of the bar falls away. “I like you so fucking much. I don’t want to pretend I don’t anymore. I flew out here for you.” Something expands in my chest, filling every corner with an intense warmth. Our gazes are locked, and my arms are still around her, keeping her close. “I don’t want to fight this anymore.”
- “Not tonight,” I tell her, knowing I’m going to regret it. “If we mess around more, Pippa, I’m going to break your bed.”
- “I remember her singing when I got home, and my heart thumps harder. If she’s living with me, maybe I’ll hear her sing again.”
- “Anything you want, songbird? It’s yours. Where you’re concerned, money is no object, because making you happy is worth it.”
- “I thought you were gorgeous, too,” he murmurs, looking at me in a way that makes me feel like I can’t breathe. “Even back then.”
- “There’s no way I can tell her the truth—that she’s the girl I was obsessed with for two years in high school.”
- “I sing about wanting more, wanting to believe in myself, wanting to break free and be my own person. I sing about going for what I want because I don’t want to regret a single moment. I don’t want to waste a second doing something other than following my passion and purpose.”

I adore Freida's books and they are well written as I can never guess the plot twist[s] in her books which makes them even better! I loved the whole premise and plot of the book, especially the audio recording chapters. I don't read many mystery or thriller books but I will forever love Freida's books! I highly recommend this one to everyone, especially since it is one I rarely hear people talk about!!

Quotes:
- “How are you? The three most useless words in the universe of communication. Nobody who asks that question wants to know the answer. And nobody who answers ever tells the truth. “I’m fine, Paige.”
- “My mother always says the only way two people can keep a secret,” she says, “is if one of them is dead.”
- “Liars fidget. The tone of their voice or speech patterns changes. Liars offer too much information, babbling on with excessive detail to convince themselves or others of what they are saying.”
- “It’s hard to arrest a man who is entirely fictional, isn’t it?”
- “Adrienne Hale,” he reads off the back cover. “Isn’t she that shrink who got murdered?”
- “I blow the dust off the recorder and pick it up, curious to see what Dr. Hale had been listening to before her disappearance.”
- “When Ethan brought out the wine, he mentioned it was from South Africa. Was it the Same bottle of wine?”
- “Grocery stores are an exercise in psychological manipulation. It is virtually impossible to enter a supermarket intending to buy a quart of milk and emerge with only the milk.”

This was a reread of a childhood fav that I have not read since I left primary school, and I really wanna reread the rest of the other books. I love that it was a short audiobook from Libby but I do want to rebuy the series as hardbacks or paperbacks so I can own them and read them again. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who wants a quick middle grade book.

Quotes:
- “If there's one thing I learned from Rodrick, it's to set people's expectations real low so you end up surprising them by practically doing nothing at all.”
- “The best person I know is Myself.”
- “Dear Aunt Loretta, Thank you so much for the awesome pants! How did you know I wanted that for Christmas? I love the way the pants look on my legs! All my friends will be so jealous that I have my very own pants. Thank you for making this the best Christmas ever! Sincerely, Greg”
- “Be yourself and people will like you.”
- “I'm having a seriously hard time getting used to the fact that summer is over and I have to get out of bed every morning to go to school.”
- “Let me just say for the record that I think middle school is the dumbest idea ever invented. You got kids like me who haven't hit a growth spurt yet mixed in with these gorillas who need to shave twice a day.”

4.5

This was my first book by this author and it did not disappoint, hence why I gave it 4.5 stars! I loved this book and how much Alexis and Daniel grew as people as the book went on. I loved the rich girl-poor(ish) boy trope and how well it was written. I cannot wait to read the rest of Abby's books as I have heard AMAZING things about them!!

Quotes:
- “Love follows you. It goes where you go. It doesn’t know about social divides or distance or common sense. It doesn’t even stop when the person you love dies. It does what it wants.”
- “Look at that mantrum. Eight thousand nerves in the clitoris and still not as sensitive as a white man not getting his way.”
- “Sometimes family isn't what you're born into. Sometimes family is found.”
- “When you don't care, everything's on your terms. They can take it or leave it. It doesn't matter to you, so ask for whatever the hell you want.”
- “I'd follow a clown into a storm drain if he had a baby goat in pajamas.”
- “I refuse to have sex with someone who doesn’t have a headboard. I’m not that desperate—yet. My vagina has officially been closed for so long I’m afraid a Spirit Halloween is going to move in.”
- “She’d taught me this, primed me for my relationship with Neil. Made me believe that this was what love looked like. Bri was right. I’d been taught to placate assholes. I’d been taught by Mom.”
- “The world is ending, Alexis. That’s what this feels like. So come with me now.”

4.25

I received this book as an arc and it was sooo good so I gave it 4.25 stars. I loved the representation in this book and I loved how cute the book was. I'm normally not a fan of the pregnancy trope but I loved it in this book, and I love how well written it was. The MC's grew on me so much, and I love how the MMC immediately stepped up to help the FMC with her pregnancy.

Quotes:
-“Our souls were tied a long time ago, I think. We’re just finally admitting it to each other.”
- “You are my soul’s purpose, Win. To know you, to love you, to build a family with you, to spend every day taking care of you, to watch you shine and get all the good things you deserve out of this life.”
- “I love you, Win. I love you so much it makes me feel like I’ve hated everything else in my life up until now. Nothing compares to what I feel for you. Not even close.”
- “So you don’t know who the dad is?” “It’s a bit of a Mamma Mia situation, I’m afraid,” I answer. “Here we go again,” Bo mutters under his breath”
- “She’s wearing bike shorts and a cute, oversized sweater with the word Velaris written across it. I think that’s from a favourite book of hers, but if I ask, we’ll never get out of here on time.”
- “Men are beyond strange.”

I will come out and say it, this book and series was so boring. I don't read many YA books but when I do, they tend to be amazing but this one was not. The series is so overhyped and made out to be something that it wasn't. I would never recommend this series to anyone, not even to my worst enemy.

I received this book as an arc from Pan Macmillan through Netgalley, and I am so grateful I was approved for it as this book was so good! I loved the con woman plot, and I loved the characters growth sm in this book. I was shocked at 2 of the plot twists near the end as I was not expecting them at all. I also loveddd the mini nod to the 'Fizzle' drink company that is part of the Addicted-Calloway series background. The MMC really grew on me as this book went on, and I cannot wait for book 2 to come out! I highly recommend this book to everyone when it comes out, regardless of whether you have read the Addicted-Calloway sister series or not.

This is my fav book in this series so far, and it got a 4.25 star rating from me! I love how Tyson already knew Lake in a way since he was previously married to her [dead but not dead] sister. Lake's growth in this book was everything, I loved her sm and I love how she grew to love Tyson. I hated Luke and Whitney sm, they should have died sooner in the book but that sadly did not happen. Tyson was amazing to Lake as he grew to genuinely care about her, especially when she was kidnapped and was presumed dead. I recommend this book and series to EVERYONE who loves dark romances with a lot of smut.

Quotes:
- “Love? It doesn’t sound so foreign anymore. If loving someone means you’d burn the world to protect them, then I love her.”
- “As blood is my oath, you will forever belong to me and I to you.”
- “Why? Because the villain doesn’t give two shits about the world. All he cares about is the one thing that calms his demons, and that person for me is Lake. If I don’t have her, they take control, and all they know is to destroy.”
- “Welcome to hell, little darling. You’ll only be able to crawl as far as my chains will allow you.”
- “This will be your only warning. Don’t put your hands on my wife. Ever.”
- “I just want her son to bend me over, spank my ass, and call me his good fucking slut while his cock pounds into my throbbing pussy until I come all over it.”
- “If loving someone means you’d burn the world to protect them, then I love her.”
- “It’s a different level of hell, but I have all the control. I’m the devil now and will choose who burns.”
- “I want you to feel me holding you down. I want you to hear yourself gasping for breath when I force you to come. And I want your eyes on mine while I make you cry. I’ll never drug you, Lake, because I don’t need you compliant. You’re now my wife, and I can take whatever I want from you.”
- “A set of baby-blue eyes meet mine, and my stomach drops. The wind knocked out of me. I haven’t seen them in years, but they’ve haunted my dreams ever since.”
- “Tyson isn’t the kind of guy that you call baby or sweetie. No, you kneel and call him sir or god. Fuck, I’d call him daddy if that’s what he was into.”
- “Say your vows, little darling,” he orders roughly. “Remind me that you belong to me.” “I vow.” I manage to get out as my hips hit the Lords’ table. My hands reach out in front of me, needing to hang on to something, but there’s nothing there, so I slap them on the surface. “You vow,” he growls before his teeth sink into my neck, making my breath hitch and my body break out in goose bumps. “We vow,” we both say, and my eyes fall closed as his free hand wraps around my waist and holds me tightly as the ground comes out from underneath”
- “I live for my Lord, and I trust him with my life.”
- “Oh my God.” She gasps, her hands gripping the sleeves of my crisp button-up. I lean forward, my lips gently kissing her parted ones, tasting the lingering wine on hers. “I am the only god you will worship, little darling.”
- “I choose you,” I say, feeling the butterflies in my stomach at the way his eyes devour my chest. He’s starving, and I want to be his offering. I’d willingly be his sacrifice. Make me yours.”

I was nervous to read this book because I wanted the next book to be Lily and Lo, but this book was AMAZING. Rose's growth in this book was amazing and Connor was pure amazing! I HATED Scott sm, he was disgusting so so horrible. I loved that this book was a reality tv show plot (even tho it has now ended). Daisy was a hit and miss for me in this book (same with the first 3 books), idk how I feel about reading her book as the age gap between her and Ryke is a bad icky.

Quotes:
- “You’re not a pit stop. You’re my finish line. There’s no one after you.”
- “People hope to touch the sky. I dream of kissing it.”
- “Kiss the sky with me,” Connor whispers, a beautiful smile pulling his lips, “and don’t ever come down.”
- “She was a genius on paper. But not a team player. She was quick to loathe others. But not against loving. She was a complicated equation that didn't need to be solved.”
- “Well, Connor doesn’t believe in magic. If Hogwarts actually existed I’m sure they’d send an owl to shit on his head.”
- “I want you for eternity, not for a brief finish line. There's no one after you.”
- “We’ve become something of a family. A dysfunctional, fucked up family.”

This book was highly recommended on booktok to lovers of the Chestnut Springs series, and I am so glad I read it. It was really good but nothing will ever live up to the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver. I loved Emmy and Luke, but I wasn't a huge fan of how quick they hooked up and got together. I definitely will be reading book 2 and book 3 of this series, and I highly recommend it to people that love cowboy romances.

Quotes:
- “Sugar, you deserve to go out on your own terms. Just because you got dusted doesn’t mean you’re done.”
- “Emmy was worth the wait. I’d been waiting thirty-two years for her without even knowing it, and she’d been right in front of me the whole time.”
- “When it came to Emmy, I was playing with fire, but I would happily walk into the flames for her. And I’d have a smile on my face the whole damn time.”
- “I couldn’t believe the universe was so big, and I got placed on this random floating rock at the same time as Clementine Ryder.”
- “Some love stories burn hot and fast, but you two are more low and slow,” she said. “It’s a strong and steady kind of love.”
- “Emmy Ryder might have been in like with me, but it was then that I knew I was falling in love with her.”
- “And Emmy wasn’t just pretty. She was extraordinary.”
- “I leaned into Emmy, my hand on her throat still keeping her pinned to my office door, and spit the whiskey in her mouth.”
- “And your family is my family, Emmy, so even if you weren’t in my bar, you would be my business. You’ve always been my business, and you’ll always be my business.”
- “She fit in my arms like she was made for them. I’d like to think she was.”
- “You know, if you don’t like the road you’re on, you can always pave a new one.” “Who said that? Robert Frost?” Brooks smiled and shook his head. “Dolly Parton,” he responded. “Ah, God herself,” I said with a laugh.”

Tropes:
