Disappointing. I have become a huge Colleen Hoover fan, marathoning every one of her books I can get my hands on, but this was completely an unnecessary book. It's supposed to be Will's POV of what happened over the first two books, as he is recanting it to Lake on their honeymoon. Accept that his voice isn't as if he is telling it to someone. It's written just like it's a book. Not in the manner if you were telling it face to face to someone. Especially your now wife.
The story had nothing new or original until the epilogue which WAS enjoyable. This book had no real conflict, no real plot and the only thing that kept me reading was that I wanted to see how their relationship progressed.
It would have made much more sense for the final installment to be there life now married, raising their brothers together, starting a family, everything that you'd expect after getting married. Instead this just felt monotonous and lazy. Oh and kind of like it was just capitalizing on the success of the series. And we bought into it by reading it...hook, line and sinker.
This was wayyyyy to YA for me and my fav genre is usually YA. It felt way over dramatic. It felt like there was so much going in and then suddenly everything was okay, like, “Poof!”
I went into this as a CoHo fan. I’ve read every book and many multiple times. But if you had handed me this book, never told me it was CoHo and then told me that it was her novel, I’d laugh because I would think you were joking with me.
I will still continue reading like the devoted fan that I am, but I hope this isn’t a new direction.
