The ending was nice, and the journey wasn’t awful. Hence a rating of at least 3 stars. But to be honest I dragged through this book, the ending was just a little too open ended for my personal preferences, and left me feeling unfulfilled. I do recognize that this is a part of an entire universe of books. Hopefully I will be able to catch more of Eira’s journey in upcoming publications. I do intend to read back on the previous installments of series, chronologically I technically started with the most recent series. I plan to read backwards if I pursue the other series. Only time will tell.  Au Revoir.

I enjoyed the ending of this book. I really enjoyed the mysteries, the development between Nesryn and Sartaq, I loved Yrene’s story, I love her power and her growing from hatred. But for the love of god I hated this book for how heavy Chaol’s character is implemented in it. I hate that mf.

Gods be damned, this book absolutely broke me. The beginning felt like I was wading through murky waters, lost in a sea of information and even being mislead as a reader from certain plots until the very end. Very well written, and that ending is and ending I will not forget any time soon. Aelin’s sacrifices, her plots, so much she kept hidden from her loved ones and ourselves as readers. A truly unreliable narrator. The truths revealed in the end truly cleaves me open into devastation. Everything absolutely ties together neatly like a perfectly destructive blow to your already hopeful heart. The only thing that continues my hope is the path these characters are taking into setting things right. A beautiful read.
