I got this book initially through my public library but I was so hooked onto it I went to my local bookstore, bought a copy, and finished it, all within a matter of days.

As much as I rolled my eyes at Maddie, I found it good that we had to be by her so that she could see the strong, different perspectives, and how this world definitely swung the hammer on her with her privilege. It was just great to see.

I didn't even finish the book before Instarted recommending it to others and now I REALLY want to let others know to read this!

Genuinely enjoyed reading O'Toole's life and how autism affected many aspects. Also A+ for trigger warnings in chapters related to domestic/intimate violence and self-harming behaviors and notes what page the reader can skip to if they do not want to read it!

Writing wise, The choppy transitions really throws me off. Content wise, I didn't really feel emotionally connected to the author and her father to make me care a lot. My brain just read it all as if a "well that happened/is happening".

I had a seesaw of a time reading this book. I'd be likin a paragraph of some idea or a critique but then the flow gets ruined either by some comment that shows her privilege or some one-up thought that could be reworded better to show that she had a grasp of a situation.
