I clearly saved the best for last! While all 3 of the short stories in this series were amazing, this one was my favorite!!!

Death has a name and it isn't Grimm lol We meet Death's siblings (the apocalypse 4 horses ...War, Famine, Pestilence and Death....but go by different names as well) ... I had fun determining which horseman/sibling was which!

In this short story Vex (the oldest sibling) holds a grand ball that invites only the most vile humans and makes a game for his siblings.

Watching Death (well..reading but like...movie in head while reading) in her element was so much fun. It was an intense game and the sub-story within this was also really good and disturbing.

Sad face....I must now wait for a new addition to this series to come out!

Mr. Volpe .... WHAT THE ACTUAL FLYING FORK FARMS?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!! I used to LOVE strawberry shortcake ...it was my favorite summer dessert. And now.......i dont think I can EVER eat it again in this lifetime. Between you and C.M. Guidroz, I am gonna have a very limited diet as y'all keep ruining food for me lmfao

I can't even give a synopsis on this story its so short but ....it didn't come to mess around ...it was all business from start to finish and had me yelling EWWWW NOOOO WTF!!! So now, excuse me while I take strawberries off my grocery list and call my OB/GYN and thank them for the hysterectomy so that I NEVER have to worry about ANY of this.

Crown of Betrayal

Melusine Ashford

While the plot was a really cool one, the writing style just wasnt for me. The vibe I got from the writing style was middle school writing warm up in english class or oral book report. The dialogue was so unnatural and there was no flow to it. The big inspirational speech before they go into a forest where they can lose their lives was very short and uninspiring. The characters especially the FMC and her father were absolutely insufferable.

The author is the sweetest and this is her debut novel so there is a lot of time and room for her to improve and find her niche in the fantasy world. Her plot was spot on just executed in a way that I couldnt get into.  I would say that people should try it if they are super into fantasy books and see if her writing style is for you.

These Apothecary books are the best short stories! The character of Death is written so perfectly. A lot of sass, a lot of confidence, and a lot of sarcasm.

In this particular short story, Death plays a guessing game with her patron, Nell. Can she guess which sin (7 deadly sins) is in each potion vile?
It is a short story so I wont say more about the plot because it will give it away.

But 5 of the first 6 sins I guessed correctly on the first line of description....go me!! Lol

If you are in a reading slump, need something you can finish on your lunch break, or need to cleanse your brain of another book that either gave you the ick or gave you book hangover ...this is a great palate cleanser!

Its cute and sassy and while it is the Grimm Reaper, still somehow cozy. This is absolutely an apothecary I would want to visit in real life!!

Now I have one more to read and then I will have to impatiently wait for another installment lol

This book is the last one I needed to read in the I Found Horror series by this author! I started with I Found Puppets which had me hooked from page 1 and I could not put it down. The I Found a Circus Tent had a little slower of a start but definitely lived up to the first one I read. Moving to this particular book, I Found Christmas Lights, I was ready to continue the creepy vibe.

The beginning starts off way slower than the other two in my opinion, BUT, it does continue the creep factor and the slower beginning explaining the backstory to the MC was necessary to understand what goes on through the book.

This story shows how much grief affects families, especially when each member in the family processes and displays the grief differently. And the differences in those processes can ultimately affect other members deeper than the initial grief. I think this was a creepy way to tell that story but it wouldn't be a Ben Farthing book if it wasn't creepy lol

From as young as I can remember, I have ALWAYS hated ....LOATHED... Christmas! As an adult who now also see's how the holiday had quickly and dramatically become about corporate greed and materialism, I despise it even more. The ONLY part I have EVER liked about that time of year, has been the way the cities put up lights. My city where I live uses blues and purples only and to me it is very calming and beautiful. I think they should be up year round lol. After reading this book though, I may be rethinking that sentiment as well as the string of lights hung up around my bed lol
I for sure will not be looking forward to hearing any carolers.

Im very sad this is the last book I needed to read in this series. Ben....please give me more I Found Horror books .... I NEED them!! K thanks lol

I am giving this book 4 stars because it is well written and I wanted to know how it ended. But this book definitely has me questioning my morals and whether or not reading this book and WANTING to get to the end makes me a bad person or not. Now, this book is about p3d0ph1l3s so there is a lot of child abuse and child s a . If you are unable to stomach that and understand that it is a work of fiction written to elicit rage and disgust then this is definitely not the book for you and you should absolutely stay away from it. I don't usually go for splatterpunk heavy on child s a but the books I put down have the s a in there completely unrelated to the story and the s a in this book is a big part of the plot of the story. I spent the whole book reading wondering how it was going to end....and while I knew there wasn't going to be a happy ending, that was definitely not the ending I had expected.

Now Im gonna go take a shower n scrub my skin til i feel cleansed and then read a happy story with zero sex in it to try and wipe that story out of my brain lol

Bravo to SS Hughes for writing a completely morally grey depraved story!

This story pulls at ALL the heart strings. It is written so beautifully and so honest and touches on so many real life issues that parents go through all the time. Its relatable, its heat breaking, its joyous, its a celebration of life and the things we do for the people we love in our lives. I can't say enough about how amazing this story is.

Ms. Kennedy Ryan ...I hope we get a story for Hendrix and one about Lola and Olive. Your writting makes us readers so invested into the lives of these wonderful people and I cant wait to see who the next story follows.

You are an amazing author with amazing stories to tell.

First and foremost, I want to thank Robbie Dorman for this book! It was a great read with twists and turns that I didn't see coming, a moment where I got a little misty eyed and moments I gasped out loud.

The only reason this is not a 5 star read for me is because there were moments that I felt it kinda dragged and the scene(s) could have been cut shorter. BUT overall, a great story!!!

This Book is Cursed follows Annie as she comes across a choose your own adventure book that is a one of a kind with a dark history. The grief in this story is very consuming for Annie as well as the reader. Everything that follows after her finding the book is a rollercoaster of an adventure all in itself. Just remember that NO ONE is safe ... the book is cursed lol

I absolutely will be buying a physical copy to display on my shelves! A great read that is written so immersive its as if you're transported into the Sentinel Lodge yourself!!!

Thank you again Robbie Dorman for this awesome story that just kept coming with those right hooks!!!!!

This shortish story is a different take on the effects of drugs in all aspects. From the strain it has on your relationships with friends and family, to the strain it has on your mind, the lasting effects on your body, your emotions, and your overall view on life.
I was so invested in to Ashleigh in such a short amount of time. It was as if I was feeling the fear, the rage, the sorrow as she experienced them.
I did get a little pulled out of the story with the shadow man "reveal" but ....it definitely ties in to the statement of how drugs affect every part of you.
This story was a pretty quick read and kept me wanting to find out more. I had a few audible gasps as things played out and even a few times of asking aloud "WHY?!?! " lol

Thank you NetGalley, Raw Dog Screaming Press, and Sarah Hans for the opportunity to read this quaint story with a big statement packed in there. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely be keeping an eye out for more by Sarah Hans as well as more that may come out as a part of this series.

I love when authors produce great sequels! Its so rare for me to find series that give me just as much energy and entertainment through the books as the first book gave. And Adam Cesare did an amazing job with this sequel.

I really love Quinn and the relationship between Cole and Rust. Getting to read more of their friendships/relationships after the horror of the first book was so much fun.

Marta Lee and Izzy .... they were great additions to the story. Hunter was too, although I really wanted to strangle him at times, but I am sure that was the point.... well and Cole when it came to them talking to each other.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly and Jesse does an AMAZING job with the audio books.
