Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty

Liane Moriarty does it again. I absolutely loved this.

LM has such an anthropologic POV. She writes characters that I feel I do or could know in real life. She has the pulse on so many different types of personalities. And while her books don’t tend to be major mysteries, they do tend to keep you guessing about something all the way to the end.

I still don’t know of cherry really saw anything or just got lucky a few times. But it doesn’t matter. That’s not the point.

I was so here for every character. I cried for them and cheered for them and fell for them. We don’t get a ton into each one’s lives, but we get enough to get a good idea of who they are.

Absolutely recommend.

Tiny spoiler:

My only complaint that seriously had be contemplating rating down a quarter start is not getting a later final chapter for Ethan. I felt a bit bereft.

Loved this one by Miss Hepworth. This is my third book by SH and maybe my fave. I absolutely loved that it was both twisted and happy. One of the twists was obvious imo, but it made it no less fun reading. And the ending ended up being even twistier than I guessed. Anyway. Really liked this one.

Meh. This dramatized version was actually great. I thought the sound effects and editing were great and enjoyed the full cast. But that wasn’t enough to save the story or make me care more. Mercy was kind of random and needs way more fleshing out. And the I just didn’t care that much about the story itself. There was no tension or build up. Things just sort of happened.

Idk. Probably won’t continue the series.

This was a short, emotion filled novella. I really liked it. Though I wish I had a better memory regarding who Nora and Dav are in the main series.

Recommend if you have already read at least one of the Blood Grace series books.

This was…different. I thought it was just another mystery/thriller but it turned out to be a bit of a dive into the world of cults. I didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. Thought the ending was an interesting choice and I was mostly satisfied with it.

So I give this a neutral like rating of 3.25 stars.

Enjoyed. Lavinia and Gareth were fun—if a little dark. I like all the update see get for past couples. I have already read Jules and Ruben’s story. Think I just have Clara and Henry now. It’s fun, sometimes serious, sometimes a little dark, but never overly graphic series. Recommend.

4+ stars.

Somewhere along the way, this story really sunk into my bones. A couple months ago, I read a story that, on the surface, was similar yet I didn’t connect with it. I think that just goes to show you how important the author is to the reader experience. There was something about this one that just connected with me even though I truly relate in almost no way to the characters’ lived experience and personalities.

I love how the author took us through each woman’s experience. Even the ghostly narration felt right.

And I’m even satisfied with the ending though it isn’t a traditional HEA.

Recommend.

Overall a good read. I wish we had gotten more inserts from the book within the book. I wish there had just been a bit more that got my heart racing. Those are both the best and worst books.

I like Gillian McAllister. But I confess every time she releases a new book that isn’t a follow up to Wrong Place Wrong Time, I get disappointed—especially when it’s not quite as good.

Still a good overall read though.
