These books just keep getting better. But of a cliffhanger ending. Super action packed and I loved the involvement of Darius. Don’t know where this is going or how it will be cleaned up, but man am I invested.

Fun one. Really liked. Good characters. Good development. I enjoyed it.

And as always, Mary Jane wells is the queen of historical romance narration.

Liked this one. Like the story and the way things progressed. However, I the story skips months at a time multiple times. Some of these times felt like a disservice to the story as we didn’t get to delve as deep as I would have liked. It just made things feel more surface level from a reader’s perspective imo.

Overall though, I enjoyed it. And as always, Mary Jane wells is the queen of historical romance narration.

Really liked this one. Will go down as a top mystery/thriller of the year for me.

The author did such a great job pulling me in from the beginning but then taking time to develop the background and present story while also giving interesting inserts along the way. Even the way she wrote the developing chapters a little longer with the chapters getting shorter and shorter as we approached the end. The suspense was 💯!

Also. These characters were flawed for sure. But man did I find myself rooting for them. That’s not always the case in thrillers. So I appreciated that.

Anyway. Highly recommend.

Perfect audiobook to keep me company on a busy day. This was exactly what I needed. I liked Lumi a lot and felt the budding relationship with the Corbin. I enjoyed their chemistry and the mystery was fun. I enjoy the companion series I’ve read by this author (drawing a blank on the name) but never got behind the relationship in that series. This one is off to a much better start. One I will be rooting for.

And of course, Amanda Ronconi is the perfect narrator for this type of story. Just love her.

Recommend.

Hmm. What to say about this one. Thinking I’m going with 3.75 stars. I did not struggle reading this, but it also wasn’t a book I was dying to delve back into. However, somewhere along the way I did find myself really caring where the story was going.

While this is a mystery, I feel it belongs closer to lit fic or contemporary fiction maybe. Laura Dave told a story with a mystery, but it was ultimately about the people. It was about this family—their similarities and differences. What binds them and separates them.

And while it was largely about Cory and Liam, Nora was the one with the most to learn from their story. I hope it inspires her to not make the same mistakes.

Worth reading for sure. Just know it’s not a page turning thriller. It’s a story about a family and the mystery is not really the point.

This was a fun one. I enjoyed it. Good relationship development. Communication actually occurred. The conflict was mild but enough. The story wasn’t overly involved but developed enough to make me care. Just a fun read. Recommend for regency lovers.

The first half was 3 stars. I was pretty bored. But when the fellow detective came into the picture, it got a little better. And I didn’t figure out the whodunnit. My money was on the way wrong person.

So I’m rounding up to 4 stars because I also think I’d have enjoyed it more had I not been jumping into the middle of a series and knew the characters better.

This was a chore to get through. Idk why I bought so many random fantasy books on audio—especially this one where I didn’t know the narrator and thought she was just okay.

Idk. This book. I mean I finished. There were parts I felt had potential. I didn’t hate it. But I was never overly invested and didn’t really care about the outcome. If there are more, I don’t predict I’ll pick them up.

Also. One of my pet peeves is when there are two POVs, usually a guy and a girl, and the guy has WAY LESS chapters from his POV and they don’t really add to the story. This was a prime example of that. Kieran’s chapters were mostly recaps of Asha’s chapters. There was maybe one chapter that added anything useful. And there were only a handful all in. I just didn’t see the point.

Read or don’t. But maybe pick up the physical or digital copy. I don’t really recommend the audio.
