I have been in a slump since the end of march, nothing really sticks with me. Then my friend in my buddy read group, gave me major fomo regarding this book & I finished it in a day & a half. Mainly fade to black spice, character driven & no real plot but I enjoyed it and I think it got me out of my funk.

This book has some very triggering content so please read the trigger warnings.

This book is so much better than Code of Silence! Let’s start with Emilee, I really liked her character. She handled things well, given everything her character was put through. Titan was so morally grey on the outside and such a cinnamon roll on the inside. The plot kept me engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

When the author tells you not to take the TW lightly, listen to them! Alisha's writing is unlike anything l've read before and while it took me some getting use to, l'm glad I continued reading. The book starts off slow and in some instances it's hard to know who is narrating but overall I enjoyed the book. The horror, the gore, the creepy occurrences. If gory horror is your thing, definitely pick this book up.

This book was my first book by this author and I'll definitely be reading more by her. I definitely recommend this book, if you're into fake-dating, one bed, found family, Latine rep & much much more. I kicked my feet so much reading this. I even cried a bit towards the end.
While the majority of this book was a light read, the author does touch on some topics that are common occurrence's in the Latine community.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I haven’t read a fantasy that has gripped me quite like this one. The magic system is intricate. I couldn’t put this book down. Once I started it, I struggled to think of anything else while I did other things. The audiobook was magnificent, with a full cast. Highly recommend!
