The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer
3.5
The Inheritance Games vibes but without the family secrets. Though there are many secrets and many family themes. It was enjoyable and a story for anyone who’s ever wanted to go to an island from a book and to partake in riddles and challenges.

This fantasy other world with all its secrets and magic will take you away, carried away by paper cranes and chased by monsters. Definitely some Spirited Away vibes here that I appreciated.
Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 5 by Kamome Shirahama

Lots of development as the battles continue where we left off. Questions also arise for what magic should be and how the world came to be as it is with forbidden magic.
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

Remarkable connections between all these characters, including one giant Pacific octopus. Seemingly unconnected, the characters form friendships and discover more to life, including secrets of the past. Absolutely lovely read.

New love rivals and faces from the past. I just want our couple to date at this point.
Vilest Things by Chloe Gong

All the body jumping, chaos in the world building, and hidden agendas behind every single person. Absolutely twisted and confusing and brilliant.
As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson

What an epic conclusion to this trilogy. It felt darker and more intense and came back full circle in ways that I don’t know how to feel.

Yes to confirming feelings and making things clear. I respect a a young man who can be honest and not lead on young women.
