This punchy read clocks in at 284 pages. But what it lacks in length, it more than makes up for in depth. It will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about fairy-tale endings, romance, and love itself. Delicious food for the soul.

It was difficult to sit with a reflection of the ugliness of modern "romance" — because, even without having inappropriate age-gap relationships, I recognized so much of my romantic maturation in Vanessa's story. This is the perfectly penned response to Nabakov's LOLITA.
