I think i’ve read enough books now about women obsessing over the terrible married men they are having affairs with and how bad they treat them and how they start stalking the wives too. None of them have been good and leaves me feeling icky and this one is no different. There are some moments where the narrator makes accurate observations on misogyny, race, class and chronic social media use but it does get immediately forgotten by her terrible personality, choices and incessant whining taking over. I will steer clear of this genre of story from now on as I am now sure it doesn’t make for a fun or even thought provoking read.
2 stars instead of 1 because the writing itself wasn’t bad and i did finish the book.

Some insightful and powerful observations but the analysis and explanations using stories could drag on and the point would get lost in it.

My favourite book of hers

Insufferable

A good introduction to a topic I have never thought about and somewhat educational. I could have done without the longest chapter (30 pages) about chimps and bonobos though
